New Hearing Aids for Jeannie
This is a fundraiser to help our lovely friend and coworker, Jeannie Eberenz, purchase a new pair of hearing aids. Jeannie is an exceptionally caring, thoughtful, and generous person who doesn't know a stranger. She is strong, independent, and works harder than anyone I know to achieve her goals. Being able to hear properly is not only vital to her job as a librarian, it's also a necessity for her to live a happy and healthy life.
Jeannie has been down to one hearing aid for several months, as her right device suddenly stopped working. Most hearing aids have a lifespan of 5 to 6 years. Jeannie has been wearing her current pair for over 8 years. Before, she relied on lip reading when she was unable to hear. In our current pandemic, this is no longer possible.
Jeannie was diagnosed with conductive hearing loss in 2006, caused by third window syndrome. Her ear canals never developed past infancy. She once told me that after she received her initial pair of hearing aids, she heard rain falling on a window pane for the first time.
Jeannie is not the type of person to complain, or even ask for help. But I see her struggling every day to hear. Hearing aids are expensive, and insurance does not cover this cost. All funds donated would go directly to a new pair of hearing aids.
Let's help our wonderful friend hear again. Thank you!
