New Computer + software for webcast

For those of you already familiar with my latest venture - long-form interviews in the Aussie-centric Alt-Media channel That Guy Media - you know how fundamental my computer is to my work.
For those of you who don't know me, chances are you won't be impressed. After a wonderful 18 years in and around the music industry as a writer, producer, performer, agent and promotor, I decided to 'come out' as a libertarian commentator. Sure, call it career suicide if you will but I'm deeply concerned about the trajectory our country has been on for some time. I couldn't stay silent any longer. With 2 young children, my philosophy is simple; at very least I need to leave this country better than I found it.
Back to my old MacBook Pro...
Sadly, the old girl has all but given up her ghost. After 5 VERY hard years as my daily driver, she has seen (and recorded) music festivals, artists and produced millions of words of articles and essays, recorded thousands of hours of music and video and been subjected to horrifying outdoor conditions. She's exceeded all expectations.
To replace this with the newest model is around 5K with accessories.
NO, I am not an Apple fanboy, but with over 45K worth of audio and video software from the past 10 years of being in this eco-system, it would be foolish for me to spend within the same ballpark for a Windows-based powerhouse to do the same thing.
If you've already made it this far, I appreciate it. You'll only be donating because you think what I am doing in the Alt-Media space has some value.

If we break the glass ceiling on this one, any extra money will be spent on higher quality audio/video gear to make the content creation process that much better (and faster).
At very least, this campaign will be a good indication of how future initiatives will be received.
