New art supplies for a new year!

My name is Mr. Hill and I am a teaching artist for the Chicago Public Schools. I work at Audubon Elementary School and absolutely love my job, but budgets for our neighborhood schools have become extremely tight.
I've turned to crowdfunding as a means to help ensure my students have access to the materials necessary for them to have a successful year full of creativity, exploration, and growth!
My students are extremely creative artists that love to get messy exploring new art mediums while looking at various artists and cultures! "Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere." -Albert Einstein
City and state polititians continue to hold our student's hostage while they look for solutions to appropriately and fairly funding our public schools. I don't want my students to suffere as a result of decades of mismanaged fund. I don't want my students to suffer
There are many talented students in all content areas, but I have been most impressed with the wide range of ways the students are able to express themselves through poetry, music, and the visual arts.
The resources I'm requesting for my students are the basic building blocks to an art class room. With the CPS budgets getting incredibly tight over the last few years, the ability to purchase adequate materials for the number of students coming through the art room is unrealistic. With these materials, I will be able to ensure that my students have access to a wide variety of art materials while developing their ability to think critically and foster their creativity. These vital materials (crayons, markers, pencils, paints, and books) will be used as a vehicle for the students to explore different artists, movements, and cultures throughout this 2017-18 school year.
By donating to my classroom, you will be supporting my belief that all students, no matter their economic background, deserve to have access to a high quality and well rounded education INCLUDING THE ARTS!
