Neurosurgery for Andy Schieffer
Donation protected
As of last night we found out that my dad, Andy Schieffer, was in the emergency room only to find out that an acoustic neuroma which is a rare tumor, that he had a surgery on called the gamma knife had stopped working. It helped for many years stoping it from growing and even shrinking it somewhat. For some days now he has felt numb in the face and even having his tongue be a little weird for the past 6 months. He finally went in to have an MRI to have it looked at to find out it has doubled in size. He will need surgery as soon as possible to remove it but its going to be tricky as the first one practically fried it. It's going to be tough on our family to make it through this but we know we can. My dad will be out of work for a while and my mom will need to stay in Rochester while we take care of things at home. He's a great dad and loves being a grandpa and any thing can help to get us through this.
