Chad’s Battle with Huntingtons

Many of you may  know about my nephew, Chad, who is suffering from Huntington’s Disease.  For those unfamiliar with this horrible and fatal disease, it is described as having Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), Parkinson’s Disease and, sometimes, Schizophrenia.

Chad is now a resident in a long-term nursing home located in New York, approximately 3,000 miles from his home. It is an excellent facility that specializes in Huntington’s Disease. Your donations have gone a long way in helping make this possible.

Our new focus is to see that Chad’s  mother can travel to and from New York.  She has promised both Chad and herself that she will fly to New York to visit as often as possible in order to give him something to look forward to, and also to keep him from feeling so alone. Chad has no friends or relatives in New York or anywhere nearby.

Chad’s mother still pays for his prescription coverage,  eyeglasses and check-ups, dental needs, clothing and grooming needs, as well as airline tickets, rental car fees and lodging in New York when she visits him. Donations to help pay for their expenses, no matter how small, can make a difference.

Joe and I are committing to a monthly contribution to this effort. If anyone wants to contribute to this fund, any amount is greatly appreciated.
