Nepal COVID donations for Rotary Club Kathmandu

Nepal is going through a terrible time with COVID-19, with many people hospitalised and many deaths. There is also very serious economic hardship, with high unemployment and increasing poverty and hunger.

Some of you have asked how we can help the country at this time of crisis. We have considered how we could make the most difference, most reliably and quickly. We suggest donations to a charity which provides food to workers who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Rotary Club Kathmandu has set up a disaster relief fund. This charity, and the food it provides, is saving lives.

Rotary Club Kathmandu is working coordination with their partner PA Nepal, which has the infrastructure to prepare and distribute meals. A few of their more intrepid members have also been helping in the distribution. Vaccine availability in Nepal is limited and oxygen supplies are low. Funds are also being collected to spend on oxygen concentrators, body wrapping bags, oxygen flow meters, oxygen cylinders, PPE sets and hydraulic trollies. Their Board will consider all appeals made and distribute funds accordingly.
