Nene Valley Railway signal box restoration

Donación protegida
My son, Harry, and his friend ,Oliver, are both 12 year old boys. They attend Nene Park Academy school and are both extremely passionate about trains. Both boys have had this love from a very young age….they live, sleep and dream trains! Most of their free time is spent watching and photographing the trains, at Orton Mere. They enjoy talking to the friendly volunteers at the station. When they’re at home Harry and Oliver spend time running their Hornby and LGB train sets..
Today (13th March)they heard about the signal box fire on The Nene Valley Railway. Both boys were mortified to hear this shocking news and can’t understand why some people want to spoil what others enjoy! They want to help put things right! They want to take action by trying to raise as much money as they can to help restore the signal box.
They feel, if they help, the trains can soon be back on track again. Then, of course, they can both go back down to the railway and enjoy their passion!!

In order to raise the much needed funds, Harry and Oliver have decided to walk on the footpath, next to the track, all the way from the Peterborough platform at Railworld to the station at Wansford! The boys plan to do this on the Thursday 6th April. They will be at Railworld approximately 9:30am and leave at around 10am. As well as raising money online, they will collect money as they walk. The distance is approximately 10 miles and they promise to walk regardless of the weather!

If you would like to donate to help the lads raise funds to restore this important piece of railway history, they would really appreciate it.
There are clearly some selfish people in our community, Harry and Oliver want to show that there’s plenty of kindness too.
Thank you.

Thank you so much they have absolutely smashed their original target of £1000!! Let’s keep it going!! Please keep donating as these restorations are so expensive every penny counts let’s get these trains back up and running on the track and show these vandals that good will always prevail!!!
