Neil's Tailoring
Donation protected
An Iligan City landmark, family-operated Neil’s Tailoring, burned to the ground last 7 February 2018.
Neil's Tailoring was established by Pedro "Pedring" Delima Suarez, with his wife, Leonarda "Narding" Cabanero Suarez, in 1956. Pedring learned the trade from his father, and was awarded a Master Tailor certification in Manila. With hard work, the couple & their 9 children made Neil’s Tailoring a premier location for made-to-order clothing; and more interestingly, a meeting place (tambayan) for family, friends, & loyal customers.
After Pedring's death, family members continued the legacy of Neil’s Tailoring, to provide the public's need of quality clothing.
Unfortunately, family members and shop employees have lost their livelihoods with the conflagration that consumed the entire commercial building.
I am Peter Don Suarez Caponong. The eldest grandchild of Pedring & Narding.
This GoFundMe is my way of encouraging my uncles to revive the shop, and re-employ. They might be feeling that it's such an arduous task to relocate & reopen, but I can not imagine myself going home to an Iligan without Neil's Tailoring. I have too many good memories attached to the place.
This GoFundMe is for those who share my sentiment.
Thank you for your prayers, kind words, and assistance.
