Need for Furnace

Hello Friends,

My name is Becky Mohr.  I live with my 16 yo son  with shared custody with his dad.  

My furnace began to emit carbon monoxide this fall when the weather turned cold.  The gas company and two heating and cooling contractors confirmed it is not safe to run.  The heat exchange is cracked and will only get worse.

It is under insurance, but the insurance is not making good on my contract as stated. My Airbnb business which pays for my taxes, medical-health expenses, and emergencies has been significantly impacted by Covid as travel was restricted.  My expenses exceeded my means. To break even I suspended my debt repayment plan which was to be debt free by 2022.   I am working with my creditors who are now calling me. I am working toward opening up new income streams. All of this takes time. I Haven’t been able to save for or pay taxes this year... which puts my home and my business at risk.

  So Winter is here.  Today I blew a fuse for the second time by putting too many space heaters on an electrical circuit to keep the house warm.  I have that figured out now.    It is snowing here in Western PA as I type and I am thankful for heat, even space heaters.  They won’t do when things really get cold.

Last night I posted my antique diamond ring publicly for sale on fB Marketplace groups to raise money for this need.  The unanimous response was #donnotsellthering.   People wanted to
donate toward a new furnace and for me not to sell my ring. I was deeply touched.  I just had tears streaming down my face as I read these SCORES of responses to my son.  I had not been able to bring myself to post on go fund me because I didn’t believe anyone would give to the cause.  I was so wrong.

The kindness of people’s hearts isn’t always visible right now but this group ran rich with kindness.  Many asked how to start a go fund me, or how to give, and asked me to post a link.  So here I am.

These are my urgent expenses / needs. I
will  put whatever comes in to go fund me
toward the needs in this order.

1. Furnace: $3,600.00 quoted by

Doyle Hometown Heating and AC, a trusted local contractor. 

2. Car Repair Bill. My mechanic and his wife are amazing good people and need to eat too. I have felt terrible to keep them waiting.

Income Taxes: 
$2,100 for 2019.  Past due.

4.
Property and Municipal taxes for this year.
$2,810 combined.  Latest due date with penalties: Dec 31, 2020.
My home is also my place of business.
