Neal’s Hit-And-Run Recovery Fund

Hey, my name is Kamiko, and I started this fundraiser for the Oseland family because of Neal’s recent bike accident. For those of you who don’t know, Neal was the victim of a hit-and-run while on a bike ride in Fountain, CO on August 13th. Neal was riding a loop he is very familiar with when a big black truck struck him and fled the scene. The fleeing criminal driver is still at large and yet to be identified. Neal was severely injured, knocked down for other cyclists to eventually find, and his bike damaged beyond repair. The rescuing cyclists called 911 to get him immediate medical care. Neal was air-lifted to Memorial Hospital. Upon arrival, they diagnosed a broken scapula, five broken ribs, a bruised lung, and road rash head to toe. After further testing overnight they also diagnosed him with a concussion and mild amnesia. They’re continuing to keep a close eye on him, especially his lungs, and his care team continues to add regular assessments and additional tests to make sure he has no other injuries. Neal is in excruciating pain and processing all that’s happened. Please add Neal and his family to your prayers.

I’m addition to all the physical injury, his tri bike is no longer operable, and that is also very devastating! This go fund me came to mind immediately when I heard about the accident and how bad his bike was damaged. Then I learned about all of the other costs the Oseland’s have already incurred just because of this accident and well, here we are.

The goal is $15,000 to help Neal replace his bike, and all damaged gadgets/gear that was on it, pay medical bills associated with the hit-and-run, recoup race entry fees and travel arrangements already paid for that are no longer possible, as well as the cover the numerous unforeseen costs that will inevitably pop up over the next 12 + weeks while Neal is recovering, out of commission, and in physical therapy in the wake of this devastating event.
