A high risk pregnancy is a hard thing to go through. Every day is a wonder, “will I get to hold my baby one day? Will I get to bring him home with me?”
Caylin was put on bed rest at 27 weeks because Hunter was so high risk. She was unable to attend work and had to focus only on growing and loving the baby in her belly. When he was born, on March 2, they were told he was a healthy baby boy and they brought him home. They enjoyed 2 days of him, and on the second morning Hunter began to have his first seizure. Within 2 hours he was rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach. He was diagnosed with epilepsy but they also discovered a collapsed windpipe that makes feeding nearly impossible due to the fact that he aspirates his food the moment he starts to drink, and he stops saturating his oxygen. There is no cure for either of these things, and Hunter will need around the clock special care until he is stable. The family is praying that as he grows, both situations will improve but at this point, it could do either way. This situation has placed a huge financial burden on Hunter’s parents that they are feeling they will drown in. If you wish to donate to Hunter’s fund, please do so.
