My brother in law, Jeremy who is only 36 yrs old, was badly injured a few years ago after falling off of a roof at work. The accident resulted in an unaccountable amount of surgeries and multiple bypass surgeries . Unfortunately each bypass surgery failed and last December his leg was amputated. Shortly after, the doctor scheduled another surgery to take the amputation up above Jeremy's knee. Despite the setbacks, the surgeries and the many months of recovery, Jeremy remains positive and enrolled in college to pursue a degree. Jeremy just received his prosthetic leg this past Wednesday, Feb 25, and was excited to get to work on rehabilitation and having an easier time of getting around once again. Sadly, the following day, Jeremy suffered a massive heart attack while sitting in class. Fortunately through the efforts of the paramedics, Jeremy was transported to the hospital and taken immediately into surgery. Although Jeremy's heart stopped during surgery the medical team was able to restart his heart. Jeremy remains in ICU and his heart is still struggling to regain normal activity. The doctors are working diligently to figure out why Jeremy's body is producing the amount of plaque it is and we ask for prayers to help guide the doctors to the solution.
Jeremy's wife, Jese and stepdaughter Lillian , have been an amazing support system for him during all of this. She has missed a lot of work, not just for the surgeries but for all of the unexpected trips to the emergency room, for rehabilitation and doctor visits. Many friends and family members have asked how they can help or where they can donate money to, so I have set up an account for Jeremy to help pay for medical bills and cover the family expenses they continue to incur. We appreciate your support from the bottoms of our hearts.
