My name is Nayeli Gomez, I'm 34 years old and on 5/21/2020 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. I have a long road ahead of me, Chemo, Radiation, then surgery.

My Doctors at Intermountain Health Care, still believe that they can cure the cancer with a strong aggressive treatment to start. I will be receiving 12 weekly doses of Taxol, followed by 8 biweekly treatments of AC (Adriamycin/cyclophosphamide), followed by radiation, and finally Surgery. If everything goes well I will be cured. If not I will continue to fight the cancer with a plethora of other treatments.

Although the doctors are confident in their treatment plan and a positive outcome, I have a long road ahead of me with a lot of tough and aggressive treatments, that make it harder for me to be able to work.  Thus far, I've been very lucky and have been allowed to work from home, but even with that privilege the side effects of the treatments make it continually harder and harder to work and even perform simple tasks at home.

The medical bills are piling up, and regular bills and expenses don't slow down because I'm working less. Even though my close friends and family help whenever possible, buying medicine, cleaning around the house, transportation to and from treatments, which I'm thankful for, but we need more help, financial help.

Even with insurance coverage, I still need to cover my out of pocket deductible which is about $8,000.  Any additional money we can raise will help out with month to month medical and living expenses.

Who I was before the Diagnosis:

Before I was diagnosed, I was an active, lively person. I used to donate platelets once a month, rode my bike alongside my boyfriend for 20 miles on the weekends. I hiked the mountains near my home and other nearby national parks, like Arches, Moab, Lassen Volcanic National Park. I looked after my parents and help whenever possible. I worked full time as an Account Manager for a wonderful Insurance Company, where my coworkers and bosses treat each other like family.  I have many hobbies, I paint with acrylics, practice calligraphy, listen to many a podcast. I also love to sing and dance, play video games, and read comics.

Though I'm already 34, I still dream of becoming a mom and getting married.  I want to go back to school and become a Physicians Assistant or Psychologist. Mostly I just want to be here for my parents, my brother, my boyfriend and my family. My biggest fear since I was diagnosed is that my mom may have to bury her only daughter. It's a thought that bring tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Please help me fight this cancer and kick it's butt.
