Nawaitabu family home, church Fiji recovery

Our family home and church has been damaged by Cyclone Yasa on the 17th and 18th of December. We had only just started to fully recover from Cyclone Winston. Our crops that would have supported our family for the next year have been completely destroyed and it will take time for the land to regenerate and be able to be planted out again.

Our house has been damaged the ceilings and the stumps need to be replaced as well as our older children’s bedding as during the storm the rain was coming through the roof and walls. Our road has been washed away and is not the responsibility of the council. We now have no access to our home.

Our family church needs the older tin replaced as it was damaged in the storm and structural beams did not fear well in the Gail force wind and need to be replaced. The church was completely flooded.
