Deployed & wish to attend funeral

Hello My name is Matt, I am a Petty Officer 3rd Class with the US Navy Seabees and currently deployed out of the country.
My Grandfather, Edwin J Krom, who served on the USS Emmons during WWII has recently passed away following a hip surgury. He was 91 years old and lived independantly up till his recent injury.
My grandfather is the reason why I joined the Navy and I am proud to be serving our country as he did many years ago.
His funeral service is going to have full military honors and It is important to me to be present to honor him as we free his soul from this earth.
Unfortunatly the military does not recognize grandparents as qualifying family members to cover flight costs and leave pay.
A flight from my location to home and back is over $4,500. ( UPDATE: After posting this I was granted authority to purchase outside of military and found a ticket for under $2,000. )
I will not receive pay and allowances during leave.
I really hate to make decisions based on expenses and I will be sadened if I miss his service due to money. The Navy has granted tme permission for leave but all expenses are on me and I will have to use my leave days (vacation days).
I've researched several organizations that may have assistance for such a situation but have not received any finantial assistance.
