Navi's toe surgery

This is Navi, poor girl has a toe that needs surgery. She has an swelling, redness, and pain, and the vet has said she will need surgery, as it does not appear to be cancer. Anything that can be done to help reduce her discomfort would be appreciated, it does not appear to be life threatening, but she clearly is in discomfort.
