Navigating Nic's Neverland Return
Donation protected
As many of you know, in November Nic suffered a neurological disorder in his brain stem that has resulted in decreased mobility. After a month in Brigham & Women’s intensive care unit he was transferred to Spaulding in Charlestown for acute care rehabilitation. With their incredible expertise and Nic’s awesome strength and determination, he no longer requires a ventilator as he can breath on his own and can now shift his focus and energy to improving his mobility. Although he will continue rehabilitation to improve his strength and mobility, he is expected to return home in 6-7 weeks. The Fox Family is ecstatic to welcome him back home and are working to make necessary renovations to their home in order to ensure Nic’s safety and continued success with rehabilitation.
The hope is that we can all lift them through this challenge by alleviating some of the financial stress that such accommodations may require. The love and strength that the family shares in each other is the ultimate core of their “hope” but our collective support is just a fraction of what Nic has always provided them with. Nic is their “Mr. Fix It”, as it is his life’s purpose to care for others, lift them through life’s hurdles, and alleviate their worries. It’s truly impossible to fill his shoes but it is my hope that we can do for him as we know he would want to do himself, and that is to care for and help his family as well as prepare for his safe return home.
