Navigate at the Prague Fringe

(Budget below)

My physical theatre piece, Navigate, was selected for several theater festivals in 2020. Showing original work at an international festival is a huge dream of mine and I was over the moon, literally in this show, and…. March 2020 canceled everything.
I know 2020 ruined something for all of us and for me it ruined this.

As of last week, the Prague Fringe has finally been rescheduled! Navigate is programmed for five nights of shows in Prague from November 2-6!

I am so grateful to have this opportunity come back to me, however there is very little time to plan, this means more expensive flights and accommodations, missing a week of work, and it’s also coming after one of the roughest years financially for artists everywhere.
Ive always been pretty uncomfortable with crowdfunding- I’d like to be able to offer something to the community I’m asking for money from. I would much prefer to invite you all to a great big party but the ongoing threat of coronavirus and the limited timeline makes that impossible.
Many of you have already supported me in Barcelona or when I brought this show to Cambridge and to Philadelphia in 2019 (what a year, 2019…) and I am very grateful to you. If you enjoyed the show then and are able to support it traveling on to Prague, I would appreciate it so much.

Since 2019 this show has grown to include a lot more theoretical physics, violin by my dear friend Gabriella Grimaldi, improved acting thanks to my amazing director Xesco Palacín, new songs and new energy.
I think this show is worth supporting because it’s about a woman figuring life and science out on her own. I’ve hesitated to call my work science fiction in the past. Recently I saw an exhibit about the history of artistic imaginings of Mars by overwhelmingly white men that changed my mind. A few years ago I saw a series of solo shows entirely by men and thought, guiltily, would a woman be entertaining enough to hold the stage alone for a whole show? Would I?
Turns out the answer is yes. This show is for people who feel like science isn’t for them, this show is for people who feel a little different and alien, and especially this show is for women figuring stuff out on our own.

And of course, in the end, the lesson is that we aren’t actually alone. You need a crew to sail a magical sailing ship through outer space. So here I am, asking you to crew this ship with me. Thanks so much for anything you can give.

If you can’t give, you can help by 1) sharing and 2) connecting us with anyone you know in Prague! Audiences grow best through word of mouth and we need an audience to make this happen! We’re also looking to borrow a ladder from someone in Prague, so maybe a friend of a friend of a friend is exactly the person we’re looking for.
