National Tour Guide license for Kris

A few years ago I had a spiritual experience during a mindfulness meditation week. The message was clear: you ARE on your path and there are NO obstacles.

I have always known that teaching and guiding was my calling.

I have completed a BA in tour guiding and another one in history teaching. I got the Palestinian tour guide diploma from the Bethlehem Bible College. During the Covid pandemic I started Stories from Palestine podcast and in two years time I produced 90 episodes about the history, heritage and political reality in Palestine. These episodes had almost 50.000 downloads. Many people have reached out to me to organize trips, tours and help plan itineraries after listening to the podcast!

I have given many tours of Palestine in the last decade. Not so much during the pandemic, but it's picking up again.

But I can't officially work as a guide in all of historical Palestine without the Israeli license. The Palestinian license is not accepted. The fines are high for those who work illegally.

I know that my calling is to inform, educate, raise awareness and motivate people towards taking action for change. For justice and equality that can lead to forgiveness and peace.

I want to be able to reach out to a larger audience. Visitors who come to explore but are not aware of the reality.

Many Palestinian guides and tour agencies encourage me to take this license, because there aren't many Dutch guides that are not telling the Zionist narrative.

So I felt strongly that I should do this. 

In order to get the license I have to take a one year course and do an exam. The course consists of lectures and sixty excursions. The price is 7000 euro / dollar.

I don't have that much money. We can get something together but I will need support. That's why I choose to start a crowdfunding. I hope that with help of family, friends and podcast listeners I can follow this path.

A lot of small donations make a big difference!

And in the near future, next year December, I can be a licensed tour guide in all of Palestine (and not only the Westbank!) Then I can educate and motivate people, who were not aware yet of the reality of life for Palestinians, to stand up and speak out!
