Hi there! I’m Siti Nuriati Husin and I’m an international realist painter based out of Los Angeles. I’ve created the National Flowers of the World Project. The project’s ambitious mission: to paint the national flower of every country in the world.
About The Paintings
The research will begin with getting the photo references of the flowers from reliable sources and verifying their authenticity. This part takes extensive research and involves a lot of learning, since there are 195 countries in the world.
All the paintings will follow this format:
Medium: Pastel on paper or pastelbord
Size: from 16"x20"
Framed, Ready to hang
Each painting will have a video tracing my steps of creating it.
Duration: There are 195 countries and some countries don't have national flowers. Presumably, to complete all 190+ paintings will take around 3-5 years, depending on the size of the paintings, before the book project starts.
About The Coffee Table Book
All the paintings that I will be creating will eventually be compiled into a beautiful coffee table book featuring all the national flowers of the countries in the world.
In this book, readers will be able to peruse these paintings along with the names of the countries, names of the flowers, and their scientific names.

Final Note

Backstory
In 2016, I created the Daily Kreatif Painting Series Watercolor Fun. I challenged myself to create 100 small watercolor paintings in 100 days. This journey of exploring watercolor for the first time created an unexpected result, it made me decide to record every painting on video from start to finish.
Now that I’ve completed the series, not only do I have 100 paintings, but I also have produced 100 speed videos (approximately 5 hours) with voiceover. You can watch and trace my journey and listen to the stories of each painting as it’s created.
These videos, now live on my website and my YouTube channel, have inspired others to take on their own personal journey with their artwork. Some viewers even commented that I should turn the speed paintings into longer, detailed individual tutorials!
Since the 100 Daily Painting Series has ended, I’ve been looking forward to planning a new series to start on, but this time I wanted it to be a bigger project with a much bigger impact. While the 100 daily painting series was more of a personal mission, the new painting series would be more of a communal mission.
I’ve been asking myself, what should be my contribution as an artist and as a citizen of the world? Coming from a small country, Malaysia, and now residing in the United States, I wanted this to be a world-class project.
In early April, after discussing with my child about a school project in one of our homeschooling lessons, I got the idea about painting flowers of every country in the world.
That was it!
The ‘Paintings of all the National Flowers of the Countries of the World’ project is my chance to serve humanity through my artwork, by painting the natural beauties that we’ve been blessed with.
