YFC: The Year Out Mission Trip

I am volunteering to take a Year Out to work with Youth for Christ (YFC) in the UNITED KINGDOM!
I recently interviewed and was accepted to the Youth for Christ: The Year Out Program in the United Kingdom . I feel this is a great opportunity to take a year out of my life to work with young people in Britain.
Youth for Christ works with over 250,000 young people every month and by 2020 their vision is to reach 1,000,000 young people every month all across Britain. Youth for Christ is passionate about “taking the good news relevantly to every young person in Britain.” I’m excited to be a part of this vision.
I will be placed with an established Youth for Christ center and be involved in a wide variety of youth work. This will include going into schools, helping to run youth groups in local churches, youth work outside of churches, and mentoring young people. The opportunities that we will have to connect with these young people are amazing. I am excited to see their lives changed by Jesus and for others to grow in their faith as I develop my own walk with God. Every 4-6 weeks, I will be going to Hub Gatherings, where I’ll meet a bunch of other people that are also in The Year Out program and receive intense training from YFC. I’m also looking forward to the YFC National Conference and Mid-Year Retreat for more time to meet people and receive training.
All volunteers with The Year Out are required to raise their funds from friends, family, and other supporters. I am looking for people to partner with me on this journey by supporting me financially and in prayer. My experience starts in September 2018 and runs through July 2019. I will need to raise about $7,000 to cover my airfare, housing, training, food, ground transportation, and miscellaneous monthly expenses. Please consider joining my support team in one or more of the following ways:
1. Commit to ongoing prayer as I prepare for and eventually serve in the United Kingdom.
2. Make a one-time donation in any amount.
3. Visit this page regularly to make monthly donations* for the duration of my trip.
*YFC recommends $5-$30 per month.
