Nate's biking accident

Hello all! I'm Nicole, Nates wife. On March 11, 2018 Nate got into a mountain biking accident and has done some damage to himself. He did fracture his neck and does have spinal cord injury, he went into surgery sunday night and had it done by Dr. Nguyen, the most caring, concerned, optimistic neuro surgeon. He came out of surgery ok, he has gradually received some movement on his right leg which he was unable to completely move. His arms are still very sensitive due to some nerve damage and the healing process. For all of you who have had the opportunity to just be around Nate know what an all around man he is. He is always looking on the bright side of things and always pushing his friends to do better and giving encouragement. Nate needs this more than ever. I know this crushes him because the love he has for mountain biking and just being active is going to be the most difficult. He also is a full time student at UCSD which has been on his mind constantly with finals coming up. He is such a brilliant and smart man that I know he will get through this with his strength and powerful mind. It is going to be a long process he is scheduled to have a second surgery March 14, 2018. I don't want to be any where in the world but right by his side, he needs me the most now and I do have a job that has been very accommodating but I know this is going to be a long road of recovery for him. Any amount helps or even just a message of encouragement always brings a smile to his face. Thank you all in advance! Prayers are needed more than ever!
