Nate Pechulis is one of, my son, Isaac's best friends. We were so nervous when we found out that Nate had cancer. Thank God, the diagnosis is optimistic, however the road to recovery isn't easy!
The doctors at Children's Hospital have Nate going to a suburb of Detroit, Michigan (Royal Oak, Beaumont Hospital) for a special new Proton Radiation Therapy. For his type of cancer — especially as a 13-year-old child — this is more targeted and has MUCH less long-term side effects for him.
The Proton Radiation Therapy will is six weeks long. IN DETROIT. He is gone every other week (alternating with Christine and Mark). Doctors are saying this is his best shot, for absolute best long-term results, and least chance of long-term effects.
I'm sure they are struggling, and this is a difficult time for them. Any money you donate will help them with their weekly travels to Detroit.
