Natacha's Gift of Life Drive

My name is Natacha Hatten Eaddy and I want to personally thank you for your consideration.  It is a blessing in life when one is able to do for a living the thing that brings them absolute joy.  For me it was teaching high school and coaching high school sports.  I loved the challenges of helping and watching the growth of my students throughout the school year and from one year to the next.  I believe I made a difference in many lives.  I always promised myself I would leave teaching when I could no longer give my students my very best. Though they were so compassionate and helpful, the time came when I had to honor my promise and leave the thing I loved most- it broke my heart.  I was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome, a disease that causes paralysis.  Thank goodness there is a treatment for it.  Whew, I was blessed to have recovered; shortly thereafter, I was diagnosed with Antisynthetase Syndrome, an extremely rare autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks the body.  It has destroyed my lungs.  I am now in need of a double lung transplant.

 

As we tackle the overwhelming and daunting cost of my surgery, aftercare and very expensive medications, my family, friends and I greatly appreciate any contributions, prayers, well-wishes and encouragement.  Nothing is too small.
