Help Us Help James, Nao and Nolan

Just 26 days ago, my sister, Naomi, and brother-in-law, James, had their first child, Nolan James, and they made me the happiest tia in the world.  He is the definition of perfection.... however, just 2 days ago, our lives were flipped upside down and James was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a very aggressive cancer in the blood.  Their fairytale is just beginning and to say this has shaken us all is an understatement.  My brother-in-law is honestly the most amazing man and father to my sister and nephew.  He has the biggest heart and full of so much love. I couldn't have asked for anyone better for her.  He most definitely doesn't deserve this.  My sister and nephew need him and I know that is his only concern right now.  My sister gave birth only 26 days ago and she is torn between being at James' side and being at Nolan's side.  We will all focus on helping with Nolan so she can be with James as much as possible.

Here is where I ask you all for help.  My biggest worry for them is that as of November 2nd, there is no income coming into their home.  My sister is not ready to return to work because she still needs to heal and she needs to be with James and the baby.  She cannot go back to work a month early but they cannot survive without any income.  While both I and Jill, James' sister, will do anything we can for Nolan, as will our families and friends, we know we can't do it all alone to help them financially.  I ask you to find it in your hearts to help us, help them.  As you can imagine this upcoming battle will be the most difficult one for James and Naomi and all of us that love them.  We just need them to not worry financially so he can focus solely on his treatment and getting back home.  He starts chemo today and will be in the hospital throughout the treatment. We don't have a prognosis yet but we have to stay positive and full of hope and love only.  I promise to keep you updated.

From James this morning:
26 days ago I embarked in the most amazing time in my life. My son was born and I must say he is a true blessing the most perfect angel. Unfortunately life doesn't work like we like it to. Just 2 day ago I was diagnosed with leukemia. That is right cancer sucks. Cancer is trying to get in the the way of me raising my son this journey will not be easy but I will fight every second for him and Naomi Teijeiro I don't ask for much just pray for Me during as I begin my chemo today. I promise I will not give up and will fight till I'm cancer free. Pray for me, my son, Naomi and my family as we go against some difficult times. Thank you and I love everyone.

Please don't call Naomi as she has so much to deal with right now.  Message are fine as she loves the support and can read them when she can.  If you have any questions, please reach out to me or Jill and I know that together we can help them through this.

As many know, Naomi and I lost my mom to cancer 18 years ago and this is the hardest news we could have been given, but we will not let it defeat us.  We still stay strong for them because they need us more than ever right now.
