Nancy's Journey

During Oct. 2016 Nancy, who is 79, suffered a ruptured Colon resulting in an emergency surgery. Subsequently during her recovery she wound with an Colostomy and Fistulas. June,1 2017 she had a second surgery for a reconstruction of the Colon and repair of the Fistulas, unfortunately the surgery was not successful and during her recovery she has been in the hospital over a dozen times and has spent months in step down hospitals and recovery facilities. The family has experienced 1.5 million in health expenses much of which was covered by insurance but 150K has been out of pocket. Unfortunately Nancy needs several more surgeries. The family has mortgaged their home to the max and have exhausted their resources. The husband is Nancy's primary care giver so he can't participate in his owner operator trucking business, resulting in financial hardships.
