Nakita's Surgery

Donation protected
Nakita came into our lives in June 2014. We adopted her from the Tampa Bay Humane Society. She was in a kennel in the corner with a big fan in front of her. All the other dogs were either excitedly barking or laying in a corner. Nakita, however was patiently sitting and watching. She didn&apos;t bark or jump, just sat there waiting. I knew she was the perfect dog and we brought her home.<br>
Nakita is the absolute best dog. She lives with our two human children and her dog sister Zeiva. Nakita bonded immediately with us and especially my son who she helped us welcome home in 2016. Nakita sleeps at my feet or on my legs. Nakita enjoys getting and giving love. If you meet her she will give the slobberiest kisses.Nakita loves play tug of war and is just as happy chewing on toys too. Nakita loves chasing balls in the back yard or dog park. Her favorite activity though is going on car rides. Nakita has travelled with me when we moved across states. She loves sitting up front and watching everything. Nakita thinks she is a 5lb lap dog instead of 55lbs. Nakita was outside in the backyard with her dog sis Zeiva when both dogs found an opossum. At some point Nakita jumped on the fence and broke her right hind leg. Nakita is getting x rays and has a temporary splint on, but will need surgery to permanently fix her leg. She is currently at El Paso Animal Hospital.
My husband and I work in retail and live paycheck to paycheck. We try to save for emergencies, but this is more than we planned for. Nakita is our baby girl. She is like our child and it would mean everything to have her home and healthy again.
