Mom's Devastating Home Fire
Donation protected
My mother, Romana Colorico, is a 69 year old widow who works as a caregiver at a Home Care Facility in Huntington Beach, California. On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, her home in Naga, Philippines, was destroyed by fire. The house burned to the ground and all personal property inside was lost. Fortunately, Romana's two daughters and three grandchildren who lived there escaped unharmed.
Romana had been sending money home monthly to support her children and grandchildren. In anticipation of moving back upon retiring she also invested any extra money she earned to fix up the house.
She is devastated by the loss of her home that has been in the family for over 22 years. Her daughters and grandchildren are temporarily staying at a relative’s house in Naga until they either rebuild or get settled elsewhere.
Romana is an exceptionally loving and kind individual. She always thinks of others first and has devoted her life to caring for the elderly and infirmed.
