Battle for Blake

Donation protected
On Saturday, March 4th, our nephew, Blake, was in a terrible car accident on Interstate 29 near St. Joseph, Missouri. He was heading home from Northwest Missouri State University for spring break when he was rear-ended by a driver who failed to stop for backed up traffic in a work zone. The collision caused a chain-reaction involving two other vehicles. He was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph and later transferred via a specialized ambulance for brain injuries to KU Medical Center.

Blake has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury from the crash and is currently being treated in the ICU at KUMC. The full extent of his injuries are unknown. We do know that Blake has a long road of recovery ahead which will require extensive rehabilitation that could take months to a year. Blake is fighting and we invite you to join his fight. We are asking our family, friends, and communities, to pray for Blake and his family.

Unfortunately, the driver who caused the crash did not have insurance. Please consider donating to Blake’s fund. Money from your donations will go toward the extensive medical bills the Ommen family will face, as well as other costs related to treatment and rehabilitation. If you cannot donate, please send him a positive message letting him know there is an army of people out there praying for his recovery. Thank you for keeping Blake in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Jim and Carrie Towns
