We are here to ask for your help and support to save our Dad. Army Veteran, Father of three, Grandfather of four, Husband of over four decades…kidney failure patient.
On August of 2013, our Dad was diagnosed with kidney failure and has since been going to dialysis three times a week. He is a soldier day in an day out as he goes in for treatment to clean his blood as his kidneys can no longer do this for him. These treatments deplete our Dad of all his energy and he spends most of his free time recovering.
Despite frustrations that could take down the strongest of people, he never complains or gets angry. He puts on a brave face, does his treatments, and continues to joke around with everyone he meets.
He was put on the list a year after he was diagnosed. We still haven’t found a donor. We all have our hardships and know that times get tough for everyone. We have tried to honor our Dad by being as brave and strong as him, but at this point we need the support of others to help us to pay for the overwhelming process of a kidney transplant to bring out Dad/Grandfather/Husband back to the person he always was to us.
You always hear about the importance of signing up to be a donor but it is hard to truly understood until you watch a loved one go through it. He has survived so many problems that life has thrown a him. He hasn’t given up hope in finding a donor. People who know my dad would know he would never ask for help, but he needs the help. We need the help. We his family are asking for help in finding a donor and with help raising this money.
All donations will go toward his medical expenses and recovery time. Any remaining donations will go toward Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Mission, Tx and the National Kidney Foundation in the hopes that it will help others as well.
