Brandi's LA Internship Dream

This past year, I was accepted to the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. I am a Junior majoring in Mass Media Arts and minoring in Film Studies. I am actively pursuing the dream I have had since middle school: to live and work in Los Angeles, California as an entertainment journalist. Grady College has a program called "Grady LA" that students can apply for to live in LA and intern with big name entertainment businesses for 8 weeks. I applied for this amazing opportunity, and out of the 60 students who interviewed, I am one of the extremely lucky 24 chosen. This is an absolute dream come true for me. Interning in Los Angeles is what is going to put my foot in the door with very influential people in the entertainment industry. Even better, over 50% of the students who go on this trip in the past have been offered real jobs with the companies they worked for. Considering flights, the rental car, housing, and many other accomodations over 8 weeks in a city that has a higher cost of living, I need a little help from you all to help get me here with ease. I am currently working at Cheddar's Casual Cafe in Athens, GA and have already saved what I've earned to put down the deposit to hold my spot. Being that the trip must be paid for by April, and because the HOPE Scholarship only covers a very small portion of the tuition for this trip, I do not want to burden my family with such an expense. I have only been able to achieve my current goals up to this point in my life with the help of family and friends, and know I can count on your love and support to take me one step further to my dream job!
