Hi! My name is Maggie Ellison and I am raising money to attend the Broadway Theatre Project, or BTP, during the summer of 2015. BTP is a three week long Musical Theatre intensive that trains young artists to be the next generation of performers on Broadway. This is an audition based program. Only a few selected artists are invites to attend. I was blessed to be one of them.
Here is a bit about BTP:
{Playbill refers to us as “the world’s most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students.” We’ve been referred to as the “Harvard” of summer musical theatre training.
This 26th year Norwegian, the cruise line most respected by the Broadway community, will be hosting BTP. We will be in session from July 9th through August 1st. The first two weeks will be held at Norwegian Creative Studios in Riverview, Florida. Apprentices will be housed at apartments near the studios and will be shuttled there daily. On July 25th, BTP apprentices will travel to Miami to board Norwegian’s Getaway, for a one-week cruise to the Caribbean. During that time, your training will continue and you will attend lectures and seminars dealing with the art of auditioning for both colleges and professional work, as well as a variety of other practical topics related to this business. In addition to training, you will perform twice on the ship in its 800-seat state of the art theatre. Our company will be performing alongside the professional shows, “Burn the Floor” and “Legally Blonde”. }

This experience would be invaluable to my training. It is three weeks packed (from 9:00am-10:00pm) everyday with intense training for what I want to do for the rest of my life. I will focus on learning from the top performers in the business and grow each and every day. I am so blessed and so grateful to be chosen!
This would be such an amazing opportunity for me; however, it is a bit out of my price range. The entire intensive (including tuition, room, and board) is $3750.00. This is my goal. I will be covering any other expenses on my own.
