His body rejected his Dialysis due to his Diabetes. His body had a stoke and his body cannot sustain any surgery.
His Story:
Pedro Salgado was not just a Father, a grandfather, and a teacher to our family. He raised me.
I remeber waking up early in the morning as a young child, the sun barely shinning on my bedroom window, I knew he was awake when I would hear him singing to his flowers, cucumbers, lemon tree, and chilli peppers. I remember rushing outside to help him water the plants but instead he would tell me to go around and collect all the slugs that would eat his plants and throw them on the empty lot next door because he didnt believe in killing anything without purpose.
He taught me the value of knowing where my ancestors came from. He was a farmer and a grower, he was ONE, when he was with nature, this brought a different level of peace to his heart.
One of the greatest gifts he could possibly give his grandchild, is the connection to what has nourished our culture and our traditions. He told me that this generation doesnt understand the process of life. He would say to me, "It begins with earth, earth feeds us, nourishes us and it teaches us love and appreciate." He taught me to be grateful.
It breaks my heart to see him unable to be outside. For him to not feel the sun on his face or feel the fresh air. To see him incomplete.
He is currently under critical condition and has been diagonsed with a Terminal Illness that does not allow him to eat or drink anything.
My family is asking for any kind of help and support. We are struggling with Funeral and Hostpital expenses. If there is any way you can help spread the word, share his story, or if you know our family, please help us.
