Sara Robertson Sevilla is a 29 year old young lady that has been fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) since October of 2018. Sara has been receiving chemotherapy treatments for several months, and is also in need of a Bone Marrow Transplant. Doctors have referred her to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX for clinical trials and the transplant.
We feel very optimistic with the medical team that is treating Sara at MD Anderson, but this move to Texas and clinical trials comes with a great deal of extra expenses. After transplant, Sara and her husband, Andrew, will be required to stay in Houston for a few months. Sara's post transplant treatment will require an additional two years of monthly maintenance chemotherapy.
Here is how we can help Sara:
1) Pray! We believe in the power of prayer!
2) Monetary donations will assist Sara and Andrew with the extra medical bills that clinical trials will not cover. It will also help with housing Sara and Andrew in Houston for the few months required of them to stay after transplant.
3) If you reside in the Houston area, or are willing to travel, she is in need of white blood cell donations. These donations are much different than a typical blood donation, and require three visits to MD Anderson within a five day time period. These donations MUST be done at MD Anderson. 4) Share Sara's story. The more we share, the more likely we are to find people that are able to help.
