As a mother, the hardest thing to endure is your child in pain.  Alyssa Addison Van Vooren is the strongest, loving, kindest, self-less, most determined person I’ve ever met.  When she was 15, on July 5th, 2010, she injured her back performing a reverse dive off the high board.  Her 10th-11th grades were miserable and she missed about 80 days of school each year.  Her Sr. year she had to go on homebound because of the pain.  Not a great way to end high school.  She is now 20 and her pain is at an 8 constantly 24/7.  She has been through 25 extremely painful procedures to try and alleviate her pain with no success.  She’s had the absolutely best doctors at Memorial Herman, including the Chief of Spinal Surgery.  They can do nothing more. 

There is doctor in the Woodlands who can help.  He has developed a machine that triggers specific nerves into doing what they were created to do…pain free!  Spinal surgery has a 5% success rate.  His methods have a 99% success rate!  Unfortunately, the machine is not cheap.  We need to raise $6,000.00 to purchase it and get her on with her life.  Once purchased, the machine will be hers forever.  Dr. Rhodes says he can have her pain free within one month. If there were ever a favor that I had to ask, this is the one.  I know it is a lot to ask, but with a little donation from everyone, we can achieve our goal. Together, we can make sure that this procedure is The Last One.
