Testicular Cancer

Spende geschützt
I was recently diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer. This happened only a few months after my emplaoyer Viesel Fuel LLC. closed down its plant in Ft. Myers. I lost all income at this time, as well as my health insurance previously provided by Viesel Fuel biodiesel fuel company.  On January 30th I checked into a local ER with an extremely enlarged testical. At the ER they immediately ran an ultrasound on the enlarged testical, and a CT Scan on my groin, abdomen, and lungs. The ultrasound revealed a tennis ball sized tumor in my left testical, and the CT Scan revealed multiple large tumors in all of the areas scanned.  I went into into immediate surgery on January 31st to completely remove the cancerous left testical. I was placed with a local Oncology group following a biopsy of the removed testical that revealed with 100% accuracy that I had one of nearly sixteen different types of testicular cancer. My oncologist told me that I have one of the most aggressive types of this particular cancer, and they needed to put me on a regimen of Chemotherapy and possibly Radiation treatment as soon as possible. He made arrangements for me to begin treatments the very next week because of how far and how quickly the cancer had already spread.  Because at at the time I did not have any type of insurance to cover my treatments, my oncologist had to check me into the hospital where I would be assured the care I needed even without insurance, because of the fact that it’s a life threatening disease. While in the hospital advanced patient advocacy helped me apply for emergency Medicaid through Social Security disability. My application has been accepted, and I began receiving Medicaid as of March 9th 2018. However, in order to receive disability payments, the applicant must prove their disability for a minimum of five months. The application was first applied for on February 15th 2018 so my first possible monthly payment won’t be coming until August 15th 2018 for the month of July.  I am currently living with my grandparents who are in their mid 80s, and live month to month on their social security payment only. They have no retirement savings, and I currently have no place else I can stay. I need to get a job very badly to help them pay for the extra bills brought on by the extra expenses of me living with them, and the transportation they have to provide me on an almost daily basis for Chemotherapy, and many other doctor appointments My my current problem with getting a job is reliable transportation. While working for Viesel Fuel I financed a vehicle that has depreciated in value greatly since my original purchase. Due to edical expenses, continuing college loans, a $330.12 a month car loan payment, and six months of car insurance that must be paid upfront at nearly $1,300 it has been impossible for me to continue driving. I tried to see what I could get back from the dealership where I purchased the car, and I would still owe nearly $8,000 dollars on the loan.  I am am looking for any help available to get my car insurance, and a few monthly car payments, the first of which is due on April 22nd for approximately $350.00 paid, so I can get back on the road. This will allow me to get a job to help my grandparents keep paying the home mortgage that they otherwise will not be able too because of the extra bills added by my staying with them, as well as, keeping both of them off the road. As I said they are both in poor health and in their mid 80s. It scares me to have them on the road so often because of me.  My grandfather just had quadruple bypass surgery on his heart, and he’s having a lot of trouble getting around; he really struggles without a walker. My grandmother has had seven back, neck, shoulder, and bladder surgeries over the last two years, and can’t even get dressed without assistance.  They have ave always been here for me throughout a very rough upbringing, and now it’s my turn to help take care of them, but I need reliable transportation in order to be able to do so.  Please help me me overcome my Testicular Cancer, and make it possible for me to get reliable transportation; so I can make all of my appointments reliably and be able to get a decent job where I will be able to pay my way, especially until my monthly disability payments start coming in August. Thank you all so much for your support, and God bless all of you. With your help, and a miracle from God, I will get through this, and come out on the other side better than ever! Erik Menninger
