Help Me Help Others

Please help me provide help in response to massive psychological suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic. The corona virus has created a well-documented parallel mental illness pandemic, suicide pandemic, and overdose pandemic. But we lack online therapists to meet the current need.

After raising my six children to adulthood, I invested literally everything I had and successfully earned a Masters & Ph.D. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling a few years ago. But because of my age, I have not been able to find employment as a Licensed Professional Counselor (OH)/National Certified Counselor (USA).  My professional licenses are current.

After many fruitless job applications, I realized I would have to become my own employer and generate my own work, so I began by writing a book and giving presentations based on my research. "When Eros meets Autos: Marriage to someone with autism" is finally finished, and I'm in the process of self-publishing. A second book on co-parenting and divorce when a spouse has Asperger's is in progress, based on results from my two subsequent research studies.

In order to respond to the exceptionally high demand for emotional/psychological support, I want to create a private practice online. But starting a business involves investing money which as an independent researcher I do not have.

Some of these upfront costs include:
     * creating a dedicated professional home office ($1200); 
     * establishing a Limited Liability Company in Ohio ($99);
     * business name registration  ($50);
     * professional liability insurance (HPSO $690/yr);
     * hiring a registered LLC agent (Northwest $39 the first year);
     * website creation including HIPAA compliant appointment scheduling software (Simple Practice $700/yr); 
     * professional memberships for website listing/client referrals (Good Therapy $430/yr; Catholic Therapists $330/yr);
     * membership to the EMDR secure online platform (Bilateral Base $TBA);
     * high-speed Internet with phone option ($100/month).

Since I have no income yet, my current housing situation is unstable unless I find help to cover mortgage payments ($400 x 6 months = $2400). 

As soon as I receive your help, I can get my new business up and running, since I already completed the paperwork, pending funds. 

Not only will you be helping a single mature woman trying to start her own business, but you will be helping all of the people needing emotional support right now who become my clients. The demand is colossal, and there are not enough therapists offering online therapy to meet the demand. There are even fewer who are intimately familiar with the unique and misunderstood issues experienced among families dealing with a spouse or parent with Asperger's/autism.

Please help us all. Without your help, I truly have no means to do this. The Christmas season is upon us and even without a pandemic, it is a time of acute mental health fragility.
