Prayers for Theo

It saddens me to inform you all that our dear friend and teacher was assaulted and robbed while teaching in New Orleans early Monday (11/07) morning.  He is doing well considering he escaped with his life.  

Theodore Jamison was invited to New Orleans as an instructor for the the Conjured Roots NOLA dance conference this past weekend. The conference wrapped up Sunday afternoon with Theo closing out the festivities with an amazing class. To celebrate the ending of the conference, Theo decided to go to the French Quarter for a cocktail before bed.  On his way home he was hit over the head and knocked unconscious. He woke to some major injuries and noticed he had been robbed. The police were called and he was rushed to emergency.  He has suffered facial lacerations, cranial fractures and a concussion. He was scheduled to head back to St. Louis this morning but for obvious reasons, must stay. 

He has been released from the hospital and is currently in the care of Shaka & Naimah Zulu and myself Andrea Peoples. He will have to stay in New Orleans for a few weeks but hopes to return home before Thanksgiving. 

All funds raised will go to support his medical bills, personal care, and travel home. Anything you donate will go directly to him and would be greatly appreciated.

Lets come together to help the one who has given so much to so many. Lets show him that his dance community cares. I will keep you updated on his progress. Thank you.
