Bob Beardsley's Treatment and Care

About a year ago my uncle Bob was diagnosed with (MDS) which is short for "Myelodysplastic Syndromes" It's a condition that occurs when the blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature and therefore do not become healthy blood cells. Since his diagnosis he has had to endure several blood transfusions on a weekly basis. Despite his current health issues he remains in good spirit; always cracking jokes and making all of us laugh. I admire his courage and heart immensely.  For the past year the whole family has been looking into treatment options and trials from various hospitals and cancer centers. Finally he was accepted into a clinical trial at USC medical center. It started off with medication which were not successful so his options were to have stem cells or bone marrow transplant. So our family went through the testing of his siblings and sons but none of them were an exact match.  We started to lose hope and our options were getting smaller by the minute but our prayers were answered with my uncle in Washington who ended up being a perfect match for his brother. Now we are faced with the challenge of covering the necessities that are not covered by his insurance. These expenses include housing and transportation due the fact that he needs to stay close to the hospital for the first three months. He will be required to have follow up visits twice a week after his procedure.  He will also need help for the next twelve months post transplant while he recovers.  We are asking for any and all types of support whether it be in prayer or donations or words of encouragement or resources.
