Hi! My name is Bowen Petersen and I am a Senior Musical Theatre Major at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Throughout my time at NWU, I've been given many amazing opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience as a theatre artist and one aspect of theatre I've fallen in love with is Directing.
Over the past three years, I've gotten to direct bigger and better projects and now my directing experience is coming to a much larger head than I could've anticipated. I have the opportunity to independently direct a full-length musical. This opportunity is not given to everyone, so this is an incredibly high and special honor for me.
Here's where you come in. Putting together a full-length musical isn't cheap. The NWU Theatre Department simply does not have room in the budget to help me pay for the rights to [title of show] - and before you ask yourself why you should support someone who can't even bother to replace placeholder text, that's the actual, legitimate, totally-on-purpose, name of the show.
This show means a great deal to me, not only because it's a truly rare experience, but also because [title of show] is a hilarious musical all about the struggles everyone faces when making a career in show business. This show is very near and dear to my heart and once I'm out in the "real world" it could take many years before I get the chance to direct a show like this; This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
I'm asking that you help me to raise the $1,700.00 I would need to purchase the rights to put on [title of show]. I know you might not get to see any physical benefits of helping me, but know that your support means the world to me. With your help, I'll be able to provide more learning experience to the actors and members of the creative team, as it will be an entirely student-run process.
