My Skydive for epilepsy action ! ❤️

Hey everyone ! Thankyou for clicking on this link it means a lot. I will be doing something on the 25th July (a day before my 21st birthday ) that I never thought I could do! A skydive ! I got diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 12 years old and it has been a rocky road ever since but now I am so happy to say I am controlled . To even think I am able to do a skydive is hard to fathom , 12 year old me would be over the moon. A large part of my journey was supported by the most amazing charity ‘epilepsy action’ . This charity supports and advocates for people who suffer with epilepsy . They are a fantastic charity, and they take a holistic approach .They empathise with our epilepsy but also consider our mental health , our physical health and what they can do to improve our quality of life. My experience with epilepsy action is something I will always be grateful for ❤️ . Me and my family were given support consistently , and it was through these support groups I was able to relate to people and not feel so alone. The mental impact epilepsy has had on me is something that is not spoken about so much. I take 10 tablets a day , and I am aware so many people with epilepsy are medicated the same. This is something I will have to do for life now , but I am absolutely privileged and grateful to say I am seizure free . People do not get to experience that and it is heartbreaking .
I would like to say a massive thankyou to Jan from epilepsy action, she was consistently there for me and my family and she is an angel of a human . I always remember Jan saying to me ‘don’t let your epilepsy take control of you, you take control of your epilepsy’. And that has been the most valuable piece of advice I have ever received ! Yes I do get anxious very often when going to events, late nights , flashing lights BUT I have found ways to manage this so that I can enjoy my life as well as living with chronic epilepsy ❤️Epilepsy and anxiety can quite often come hand in hand due to the extreme anxiety it causes , and fear of having a seizure constantly. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety last year but I began the gym and through this I was able to tackle my anxiety. So by doing this sky dive it is not only fundraising for a fantastic charity but also celebrating the fact I am able to even do it in the first place I am forever grateful. This charity is fantastic and goes unseen. 633,000 people live with epilepsy in the UK and I want to give back to epilepsy action to help support these people like epilepsy action did for me .If I could receive any donations for me stupidly deciding to throw myself out of a helicopter that would be so greatly appreciated ❤️
