My sister, Mel, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer May 2014. Initial chemo, radical surgery and follow-up chemo. A little over two years later, the cancer has made an aggressive return. Standard chemo only works on fast-growing cell not working against this considered slow growing type
Finances have been exhausted including the refinancing of the house shared with a sibling. Alternative treatments seem to be the only thing to help, but unfortunately due to big pharma and government regulations, all are out-of-pocket expenses which are not covered by insurance of any kind.
Ascites began to set in September 2016, requiring monthly paracentesis (abdominal draining) until December when it became weekly. She's been a trooper but now needs to resume alternative chemo at over $6k/month for weekly treatments. A few months of alternative treatments may save her life. My family and friends are helping me with this monumental effort to raise money for her medical expenses. Won’t you please help if you are able too. Thanking you wholeheartedly in advance.
