Lori is 20 years old , she is kind and thoughtful at 2 years old we noticed her left eye was turning inwards and were told it was a squint , at 4 years old it had stopped moving. They then discovered her first tumour , in the following years she had radiotherapy lost her sight and had numerous trips to hospitals after more tumours at 11 years old lori was finally diagnosed with Neurofibmatosis type 2.
With more hospital visits.Years followed and loris nf progressed she is registered blind partially deaf has facial paralysis on the right side of her face.
This year in june she went into kings college for another crainotomy, which didn't go well resulting in heart failure and the discovery that lori has cardiomyopathy a blead to the brain whilst in icu.
Lori had another bleed in her brain resulting in a stroke. After numerous serious health issues lori stayed in kings college for 8 weeks , then another 3 weeks in a stroke unit. Finally she came home but with her serious health issues went into the local hospice for symptom control lori then had sepsis , in which she nearly died again. This year has been tough financially on the family and emotionally.Loris siblings didnt have a great year.they didnt have a holiday or days out this summer.
Loris is currently on a syringe driver for pain and has a respect plan in place , this could be her last christmas given all of her health problems.
We really would be greatful in any help to make it special for a special young lady and her siblings.
