My name is Shawna-lee Maclennan and I am starting this go fund me page on behalf pf my sister Brandy Maclennan.
Since February she has not been able to keep food down and has lost 70 pounds.
Every time she went to the doctor they said your fine, but she knew she was not. Went to the hospital on numerous occasions and was turned away because pf the Covid-19 matter. She has been throwing up her food for the last 7 months until they finally had a real look at her, turned out she was not having any bowel movement and was essentially throwing up the toxics that her body didn't know what to do with. The doctors looked at that and found a fecal impaction and they scheduled surgery and removed the impacted bowel. That is cleared up but now her stomach muscles (parastalis) are not working and are not moving the food down into the intestines. The doctors said there is nothing they can do to restart the stomach muscles and for now she is going to live on TPN.
”Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a method of feeding that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract. Fluids are given into a vein to provide most of the nutrients the body needs. The method is used when a person cannot or should not receive feedings or fluids by mouth.”
She was just discharged from the hospital to her home in Grand Prairie. She has been off work since February and her partner has been off on stress leave since her illness and can use all the help they can get. Please help if you can. Please send prayers.
