My parents lost their home in Coraki NSW floods

Donation protected
My parents have just lost their home, their possessions and all their memories in the recent Northern New South Wales floods at Coraki. They are in their late 70's and early 80's and this is the second time in their lives that they have lost their home and possessions and their irreplaceable memories due to a natural disaster.

10 years ago they lost the home my father built in a fire, including most of their possessions and irreplaceable memories, including photos and memorabilia of their deceased son Cameron, who passed away from illness when he was only 9 years old.

Everything they were able to salvage from that disastrous event was in the cabins that my father Fred built for him and his wife of 55 years Dale. Now the devastating floods of Northern NSW have destroyed everything they had built for their retirement, including the few things they were able to salvage last time.

The photo above is one of the cabins, photo taken by their neighbours, before the floods had even peaked.

I am starting this Go Fund Me page in the hope of raising enough funds for them to be able to replace the cabins and the fittings, appliances and furnishings that they have lost. They were not insured for flood due to the cabins not being classed as permanent dwellings. They will need to not only replace (or possibly repair) the cabins but also the solar panels and batteries which will be ruined, and one of their water tanks which has been swept away, before they can even live there again. Then they can then start to consider kitchen, bathrooms, bedding, furniture and appliances.

They have worked all their lives and have never asked for a handout. But this is the final straw for them, and it is too much for them emotionally, physically and financially.

I have created this page without their knowledge, because they wouldn't want to be asking others for help. But they need it. So I am asking for anyone who can help to please donate what you can to help them rebuild their homes so they can enjoy their remaining years in the relative comfort of their cabins on their land at Coraki. If you can't donate financially, I would kindly ask if you could please share this to others to help get a further reach, because every action helps.

My sister and I (and our spouses, children and family friends) have already sent carloads and trailer loads of goods down to help assist the local community with clean up, including a generator, several 20L containers of fuel, bottled drinking water, clothing, food, cleaning and sanitising equipment and lots of other things to help others. My sister has even bought bails of hay for peoples horses, and other 20kg bags of food for other animals including chooks, cats and dogs. This has all been trailered down this morning (6th March 2022).

So, if you or anyone you know can please spare any dollar amount to help my parents rebuild and start again, every dollar counts and we really do appreciate every dollar donated.

Thank you kindly.
