Sorry if this comes out a bit scattered, I’m still in shock, but today our boat, Izzi, was dragged into rocks and is falling apart, while sinking...before our eyes...with all of my and my boyfriend’s belongings on board, well now floating throughout Kittery, Maine.

Izzi wasn’t our leisurely getaway or disposable income splurge...

This was our home, we loved and lived on Izzi. I am grateful that myself, Michael, and Daisy (pup) are all safe and that’s what matters. The people at the neighboring marina have been kind and helpful and we have a place to sleep tonight, those are all good things that I am immensely grateful for.

But, this is like our home burning down with everything we own inside.

Here is some background on us: I’ve been unemployed since April, having worked in hotels for the last 15 years in a tourism centric area...my job no longer exists. I have been taking online classes to try and start a new career, but these are trying times.

Michael is also unemployed due to the world happenings. He’s a navy veteran who joined after 9/11 and knows the seas....he’s been working on making Izzi our home and comfort.
