My Good Friend Joy's Medical Fund

This is for my good friend, Joy. Over the last three years she has gone through 7 hip surgeries, 2 infections, a broken femur and  smashed spacer in her hip. She has endured countless trips to Salt Lake City for surgeries and follow up care. I am hoping to help her raise money to cover bills that have been recieved so. There is also a large amount of expense ahead of her. Her insurance has only paid part and travel expenses have not been covered at all. Expenses at this point have reached over $17,000 out of pocket and $22,000 which will not be necessarily approved by insurance. I met Joy very nearly three years ago near the time of her first surgery. I have witnessed her in a great deal of pain, in long bouts of recovery with limited results, and in struggles to carry out necessary aspects of everyday life. Having said that, Ive never seen her anything less than positive. She always finds ways to be there for others... her family, friends, church and community. She is the definition of a good family member, friend, neighbor and most importantly a good person. I'm starting this fund in the hopes of lessening some of her family's burdens.
