My first wedding at age 53 to a trans goddess

I'm Shauna and the beautiful woman next to me is Eleven.

This summer, we got married at the world's tiniest ceremony.

We had no money so we just paid the fees and had 2 amazing friends as witnesses and another friend to officiate.

I wasn't able to have my mom there or any of my family and friends and it broke my heart.

We have been talking about having a ceremony and reception for all of our friends and family this summer, but the reality is that we can't afford it. I am unemployed and Eleven is underwater helping to raise her kids and make sure that they are as healthy and as happy as they can be.

We really want to have this event to celebrate our joy at finally meeting our perfect partner.

Eleven deserves to walk down the aisle in a dress for the first time in her life.

And as my friends know, I have never had a wedding - a real one - and it makes me cry to think that it might not be possible.
