Hello friends and family, it's Gabe here!  A few fun facts about me that I wanted to share with you all beforehand!  You may or may not know by now but I am currently a junior in high school at Lebanon Trail High, in my 3rd year of marching band, Rotary Interact,  employed at Plantation Golf and most recent Cowboys Fit!  I love hanging out with my band family, getting to drive this year (finally) and all things Star Wars and Harry Potter!  I love spending time and doing things with my amazing family of five.  Some of my core values include "rejecting passivity, doing things for the greater good, putting others above myself and try my very best to always lead with a courageous heart".

At LTHS my most favorite subjects include mathematics and sciences (I will thank my dad for that).   Of course band fits in there as well!  They have all inspired me to explore new opportunities inside various organized clubs, volunteer projects like my recent scholarship to travel to Nicaragua in March 2018 for "Hands and Hearts" service abroad project.

At my school I am involved in many awesome clubs and organizations some of those include:  Rotary/Interact,  Marching Band, Varsity Cross Country, and the National Honor Society.  They fuel my passion for being involved and keeping me connected with my peers and within my community.

This past year I was invited by the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) to participate in their exclusive engineering program in Berkeley, Ca.  You can bet I was so surprised they chose me out of many applicants and of course you may imagine the excitement!  This particular internship has many features such as programing, building and designing robots, solving sustainable agricultural and environmental goals set by the U.S.  And also I will get to sit in a room full of prestigious speakers along with renowned directors of engineering programs!  Not to mention exploring and visiting various engineering site as well.

By accepting this invitation I am eligible to receive the George Mason University Credit.  I know pretty awesome right?!  However,  being as you may have guessed being invited to this outstanding program does have some expenses.  This is why I developed my firts "GoFund Me" fundraising effort as the cost for the tuition and additional fees is going to run me $3,600.  I am working very hard to raise half of the tuition on my own with my current jobs at Plantation Golf and Cowboys Fit to help aid in this goal of mine!  I am reaching out to you today as I feel you are one of many that believe in me and my future the most!  If you are able to help in any small way I will be so thankful and grateful!  Not only will you have helped give me a chance to grow but you will help me explore a glimpse into what life in engineering  would be like.

Just a little message to all those that are curious no matter how young or old....I say "jump into the unknown and see where life leads you, for you will never known what lies behind a closed door unless you open it!  You never know what awaits you on the other side!".

Sincerely,

Gabe Ibanez
