My Fight For Remission - RSD/CRPS

Donation protected

January 2nd, 2017 changed my entire life. I was rear ended in a car accident which eventually resulted in a spinal fusion at 21 years old. A few months later my leg impacted by the spinal injury gave out, resulting in the development of my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) and more famously know as the "Suicide Disease" as so many cannot take the pain. This condition is known to be one of, if not the most, painful condition in the world. My foot, leg and hip are in constant, excruciating pain every single day, my right foot changes color and temperature and I now use either a cane (for extremely short distances) or a wheelchair to walk. My pain levels are so high I vomit daily, often find myself collapsing to the ground in pain, and even full loss of consciousness. Prior to my accident and diagnosis I played volleyball, worked 50+ hours a week and went to school with dreams of becoming a nurse. I have had to relearn how to live my life, especially as someone who has become disabled. After attempting almost every expensive and painful treatment options possible including physical therapy, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, epidural injections, medication after medication, we have found a treatment option that gives me the best chance to go into remission. However, this treatment is only available in Italy. My family has done absolutely everything, no matter the cost, to get me the best health care and treatment possible. The Neridronic Acid Infusions I will be receiving and hotel stay for at least a week in Italy total almost $17,000, not including the cost of plane tickets. These costs, which are 100% out of pocket, will have to be paid BEFORE I can receive treatment, which is scheduled to begin MAY 11th! This condition is time sensitive, with the best chance of remission if treated in under two years and that time is approaching quickly. As hard as this is to do, I am asking for help. Any small amount helps me get a little closer to treatment and a little closer to the chance of living as normal of a life as possible.
